“The Work of His Hands”
2017 Annual Giving Campaign
“The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked
it into another vessel, as seemed good to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me:
'Can I not do with you...just as this potter has done?' says the Lord. 'Just like the clay
in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.'” Jeremiah 18: 4-6a

Redeemer is an amazing place! My family and I are proud to be part of a place that is doing God’s work in ways that change people’s lives! In the last month, you have been reminded how Redeemer has changed lives through VBS, the Food Pantry, and baptism. This past Sunday I marveled as the Redeemer family gathered for our All Saints luncheon. I am so grateful for all the care and love poured into this place we call our spiritual home, and I have high hopes for our plans for 2017 and beyond.
I hope you too have experienced a sense of change in your life being a part of Redeemer. Living in response to change is not always easy. The promises of the gospel are tremendous, and sometimes the demands of the gospel can feel that way as well. What can we give in response to a savior who gave us everything? This is a question we all must answer for ourselves, and I don't have an easy answer for you. But I would like to offer an opportunity.
I want to offer you the opportunity to put down roots, to become a living and giving part of a place that with God's help will continue to change lives for Christ. I invite you to take up Christ's challenge to live like you're free, and be courageous enough to help bring others to freedom. Giving is an act of grace as much as it is an act of courage, blessing the giver as much as the recipient. So, I ask you to consider this challenge for yourself as much as you might for others. It will require a choice, maybe even sacrifice, and is still the high calling of life in Christ.
I challenge you to consider the discipline of regular giving for 2017 and give yourself over, more and more, to become the work of His hands.
Please complete the enclosed 2017 pledge form and bring it to either service on Commitment Sunday, November 20, 2016. (You may also submit your pledge by mail, dropping it by the Parish Administrator’s office, or CLICKING HERE FOR ONLINE PLEDGE FORM before November 20.)
Thank you again for your generous support of the life changing mission of Redeemer.
Your co-worker in Christ,
The Rev. B. Wiley Ammons, rector
